A world famous heritage hotel and an icon of colonial luxury. Raffles Hotel was founded by the Sarkies brothers, who were Armenian hoteliers, in 1887. They named the hotel after Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Initially, it started as a modest 10-room hotel located on Beach Road, quickly gaining popularity among wealthy travelers due to its luxurious accommodations and high standards of service.
